HOW I WORK

Working with me

Most SEO consultants show up with a report. I show up with a system. This is what that looks like, from the first conversation to the point where you have a live intelligence dashboard showing exactly what your marketing is doing across every channel.

01

Understanding the business

Before I touch a single page

The first thing I want to understand is not your rankings. It is your business. Who buys from you, what they search for, what makes them choose you over the next result, and what a conversion is actually worth. SEO without that context produces traffic that does not convert.

In practice this means a proper discovery session, not a form. I want to know your margins, your best customers, your seasonal patterns, the competitors you worry about, and the parts of the site that already work. That shapes everything that follows.

I also want to understand what you have tried before. Most clients I work with have had some SEO done. Understanding why it did not work is often more useful than starting from scratch.

02

Research, audit and opportunity mapping

Tools, data, competitor gaps

Once I understand the business I run a full technical and competitive audit. This is where the tools come in. I use Ahrefs for backlink analysis, keyword research, and competitor gap mapping. Google Search Console and GA4 for real traffic and behaviour data. Screaming Frog and site audit tools for technical issues. The point is not to produce a list of problems. The point is to produce a prioritised set of opportunities.

Ahrefs Domain authority, backlink gaps, keyword difficulty, competitor rankings
Google Search Console Real impression and click data, query performance, indexing status
GA4 User behaviour, conversion paths, traffic sources, revenue attribution
Technical audit Crawl errors, page speed, schema, redirect chains, duplicate content

The competitor analysis is particularly important. I map who is ranking for the keywords you want, what their content looks like, where their backlinks come from, and what structural advantages they have. That tells me what it actually takes to beat them, rather than what a checklist says I should do.

03

Implementation

Structured, prioritised, verifiable

Work is structured in sprint cycles. Each sprint has a defined scope, clear deliverables, and a verification step at the end. You know what is being done, when it is being done, and how to check it worked. There are no open-ended retainers where you pay a monthly fee and hope something happens.

Depending on what the audit surfaces, implementation typically covers some combination of: technical fixes, content restructuring, new landing pages, schema markup, internal linking, and authority building. The mix depends entirely on what the data says will move the needle fastest for your specific site.

Everything is done in your existing platform. I do not require a rebuild, a new CMS, or a new hosting arrangement. I work with what you have.

04

The intelligence layer

Your dashboard, your data, plain English

This is what separates working with me from working with most consultants. Every client I work with gets access to a live dashboard that pulls data from every active marketing channel into a single view. You do not need to log into six different tools to understand what your marketing is doing. It is all in one place.

SEO Rankings, organic traffic, impressions, keyword movements, page performance
PPC Spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, ROAS, campaign-level performance
Content Top performing pages, engagement, scroll depth, traffic from content
Social Reach, engagement, follower growth, top posts, referral traffic
Email Sends, open rates, click rates, revenue, list growth, campaign comparisons

The dashboard is not a vanity metrics display. Every number shown is tied to a business outcome. Traffic only matters if it converts. Rankings only matter if they drive revenue. The dashboard is built around what actually moves your business forward.

05

Intelligence summaries and reporting

What is working, what is not, what happens next

Alongside the live dashboard, you receive regular intelligence summaries in plain English. Not data dumps. Actual analysis of what the numbers mean, what changed and why, and what the priorities are for the next period.

A typical summary covers: what improved this month and what drove it, what underperformed and what the diagnosis is, where budget or effort should be shifted, and what I am doing about it. If something is not working, I say so directly. If a channel is outperforming expectations, I explain why so we can replicate it.

Most clients tell me the summaries alone are worth the engagement. Understanding what your marketing is actually doing, in language that does not require a data science degree, changes how you make decisions about the business.
