BUILT BY ME
CitationHQ
Automated local citations across the UK directories that actually move the needle for local search. NAP consistency, status tracking, and zero spreadsheet faff.
Visit CitationHQ → Or work with me directlyLocal SEO still runs on citations. Most of the ways to build them are broken.
If you are trying to rank for local searches, citations remain one of the foundations. Google still uses them as a signal of business legitimacy. So does Bing. So do AI systems answering local questions.
The problem is how most businesses build them. Manual submission burns hours per directory. Cheap Fiverr services produce inconsistent NAP that actively hurts you. Big agencies charge a premium and outsource it anyway. Nobody tells you which directories actually matter in the UK.
CitationHQ is the system I built to fix all of that.
What it does
One platform, six things that used to take a week of work each month.
I built it because nothing else did this for the UK properly.
Most citation services are US-focused. The UK directory landscape is different. The top US directories barely register here, and the UK directories that genuinely matter are not on the standard lists. After building manual citation packs for clients one too many times, I built CitationHQ to do it properly, repeatably, and in a fraction of the time.
It is the same system I run for my own local SEO clients. Built for me, productised for everyone else.
What you get
Sign up, add your business details, pick the package that fits your size of business, watch the dashboard fill in over the next two to four weeks as submissions go live and verifications come back.
Who uses it
Local businesses
Get the local SEO foundation in place without paying agency rates or doing it yourself on weekends.
Agencies and consultants
Run citations for your roster without hiring a junior just to do submissions. White-label friendly.
Multi-location businesses
Manage citations across every location from a single dashboard. NAP stays consistent automatically.
How this fits my consulting work
If we work together on local SEO, CitationHQ is part of the toolkit. You do not have to use it, I am happy to integrate with whatever you already have, but most clients end up on it because it removes a category of work that nobody enjoys doing.
The point is that citations stop being a project and become a status check. Five minutes a month, not five days.
FAQ
What is a citation?
A citation is any mention of your business name, address and phone number on another website. The classic example is a directory listing on Yell or FreeIndex. They tell Google your business is legitimate, established and consistent.
How many citations do I need?
For most UK local businesses, the top 30 to 60 directories are the ones that matter. Beyond that you hit diminishing returns. CitationHQ focuses on the directories that actually influence rankings, not on padding the count.
Will inconsistent NAP hurt my rankings?
Yes, badly. Different versions of your name, address or phone number across the web confuse Google about which is correct. CitationHQ enforces a single canonical NAP across every submission.
How long does it take to see results?
Submissions go out within days. Verifications and live listings appear over two to four weeks. Local ranking impact compounds over the following one to three months as Google reads the new signals.
Does this replace Google Business Profile work?
No, it complements it. GBP is the single most important local SEO asset. Citations reinforce GBP by sending consistent signals from third-party sources. You need both.
Can I use this if I am not a UK business?
CitationHQ is UK-focused. If you are based elsewhere, get in touch and I can recommend an equivalent for your market.
