What local search looks like here
I researched local search data for this area using Ahrefs UK estimates checked on 17 August 2026. The results show that small local sites can beat national giants. For “houses for sale midsomer norton”, which has about 600 searches a month, a local estate agent with a Domain Rating of 11 holds position 3. They sit ahead of Zoopla, which has a Domain Rating of 83, and OnTheMarket, which has a Domain Rating of 77.
The same pattern appears for dental services. “Dentist midsomer norton” gets about 150 searches a month. A local practice with a Domain Rating of 1 ranks on page 1. This shows that a well-built local site can compete with big brands.
However, town plus trade searches are tiny here. “Builders midsomer norton” and “kitchens midsomer norton” show 0 searches a month. “Electrician midsomer norton” shows only 10.
