My office is at Byfields, Wells Road, Radstock. I work with Radstock businesses face to face, and I do the work myself. I started in SEO in 2000 and have spent 25 years doing hands-on work.
I built a digital agency, then went client-side to grow a publishing brand to 800,000 monthly visitors. I launched SEOBurf as an independent consultancy in 2024. When you hire me, you get me. For specialist AI search and technical audit work, I bring in Tayyaba Ameen, but I stay across every account.
Why a Radstock business should care about the Google map results
For searches like “seo radstock”, Google shows a map pack with 3 local businesses above the normal results. Which businesses appear depends on the Google Business Profile, reviews, consistent business details, and how close the searcher is. My own profile is rated 5.0 from 4 reviews.
Customers of trades search “near me” terms far more than town-specific ones. Ahrefs UK estimates from 17 August 2026 show “electrician near me” gets 24,000 searches a month. “Plumber near me” gets 14,000. “Builders near me” gets 6,900. In this patch, “electrician midsomer norton” gets only 10 a month. People search “near me” instead of the town name. For trades, most enquiries come through the Google map results. That work should be at least half Google Business Profile.
Check that your primary category is correct and that your service areas match where you actually work. Add recent photos of your work and keep a steady flow of reviews coming in. Reply to every review, positive or negative, to show you are active. These small details tell Google you are a real, local business worth showing to nearby searchers.
What a website still has to do
The map listing links to your site, and the site has to confirm the same name, address, phone number and services. It must load fast and answer what the customer searched for. If your site says one thing and your Google Business Profile says another, Google gets confused. I fix these issues so Google can crawl and understand the site. I also handle technical SEO to make sure your site works properly for search engines.
When you cover more than one town, each location needs its own dedicated page. A single generic services page fails to tell Google exactly where you operate. Your Radstock page should name the town, list the specific services you provide there, and mention nearby areas. It must also display the same address and phone number as your Google Business Profile to keep your details consistent.
Local proof: Spire Homecare
Spire Homecare has offices in Frome and Midsomer, both near Radstock. I rebuilt its website so every office has its own page. Each page lists the areas it covers, its team, its services and its CQC rating. Job adverts are pulled in automatically. A working prototype took about 6 hours and the full site about a week. Spire reports organic visits rose from 188 in September 2025 to 262 in September 2026. That’s about 39% growth. This period also included new locations and two takeovers. You can read the Spire Homecare case study.
James brings 25 years of SEO expertise to every brief and it shows. He operates at a strategic level in a discipline where a lot of people stay tactical. I would recommend him to any business or agency looking for serious SEO leadership.

Questions Radstock businesses ask
Can I come to your office?
Yes. My office is at Byfields, Wells Road, Radstock BA3 3US. You can come by arrangement. Radstock is about 10 miles south of Bath.
Do you only work with Radstock businesses?
No. I work with businesses in Midsomer Norton, Bath, and wider Somerset. I also take UK clients. I cover Westfield, Peasedown St John, Writhlington and Kilmersdon. You can see my service pages for Midsomer Norton, Bath, and Somerset.
How many businesses compete for local searches here?
Companies House lists 2,253 active companies with a registered office in BA3. I checked this on 19 October 2026. BA3 covers Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Coleford and nearby villages. A registered office is not always where a firm trades. This count suggests a crowded local market. For a Radstock firm, the best first move is the Google Business Profile. Then build a page for each service you offer.
